Annual General Meeting Task Group
This volunteer groups is assigned to the specific task of helping
the Coalition-SGSL staff organise, plan and execute the Annual
General Meeting of the Membership (AGM). The AGM occrs every year
within three months of the end of fiscal year (March 31) and
alternates province (within the territory) with a new location each
year. This is where the general constitutions of the
incorporated and non-incorporated bodies that constitute the
Coalition-SGSL are reviewed as required. The Annual General Meeting
is always conducted in a professional and fair manner to ensure all
members can participate and become involved in the various
committees and groups. There is always a workshop and a specific
theme for each meeting.
The
2010 AGM was held in
Chéticamp, Nova Scotia also in June. The theme was around
coastal erosion and what direction the Coalition-SGSL should take
in the coming years on a variety of issues.
The
2011 AGM was held in
Cap-aux-Meules, Quebec on June 16-18, 2011. The theme of the
workshop was on the coexistence, if possible, between non-renewable
and renewable natural resources in the Gulf of St.Lawrence.
The 2012 AGM is schedule for mid-June in Shippagan, New-Brunswick,
following the Coastal Zone Canada Conference.
The 2013 AGM should be held in Jun in Charlottetown, PEI alongside
the Heritage Rivers Conference.
The 2014 AGM will be slated for Nova Scotia.
